Remember me? I'm the one who used to dance to Michael Jackson songs. Remember Michael Jackson? If you had forgotten, perhaps you were reminded recently. One reminder came in the BBC Radio 4 obituaries program, in which someone who had worked with Michael Jackson said that, if you saw him perform live, you have lived. So, I have lived!

But that's old news. My latest news is that I have recently read a novel that I think you would enjoy, namely, "The Little Book" by Selden Edwards. It's about an American who time travels to 1897 Vienna. It is also about European history and Viennese cafe culture. And it is about psychoanalysis, philosophy, and music. If you are interested in any of these things, it is about time you read it. Although it involves time travel and the commingling of fictional and historical characters, it seems to me to be more believable than most novels! It's clever as well as being simply a very good read. I can't praise it highly enough. I am sure you will enjoy it.

Reading about time travel to Vienna has given me an idea for the logistics of our next reunion....

Meanwhlle, back in 2009 England, I am still living in Hampshire and working in London. My work involves technical writing and a bunch of other things.

I would like to dance or skate again but don't have time. In March of this year, I went to an intensive skate camp, which was great fun and very energising (after getting over the physical exhaustion phase). I thought it would help me to get back into skating, but I’ve only made it to the rink three times since then and have forgotten nearly everything I learned at skate camp.

I did a distance learning course in genetics last year. (Finding time for that was easier because I could do most of it on the train during my commute.) I've probably forgotten most of that too.

My summer vacation this year was spent in Wales. This is an excellent place for a Brit to take a vacation because seeing the bilingual signs and hearing Welsh on the radio gives you the feeling of being in a foreign country without the hassle of passing through Heathrow.

Looking forward to the next reunion and to seeing updates from others.

Jill
